Hi! My name is April Garrett. I am orginally from Seneca, South Carolina, but I now live in Columbia, South Carolina. I graduated from Winthrop University with a BS in Special Education in 2003. After graduation, I started teaching at Irmo Middle School in EMD self contained. EMD stands for Educable Mentally Disabled. Basically I teach students with mild to moderate mental disabilities. I have been teaching for 5 years and really enjoy what I do. This past summer, I started working on my Masters Degree in Educaitonal Technology from University of South Carolina. I will be finished with my degree next year, after the Spring 2009 semester. Though I am looking forward to finishing my degree, I am enjoying learning new things.
