This site is designed to be an online tutorial for new SMART Board users. Here you will find basic information, system requirements, online resources for interactive activities, resources for lesson templates, a checklist to ensure you are ready to begin, and other helpful tools for integrating effective SMART Board use in your classroom!

The following comments are from middle school pre-algebra students:

On how to use a SMART Board:

  • "play games and learn"
  • "let students touch and use during lessons"
  • "lessons, games"
  • "any way you can"
  • "for fun lessons"

On how a SMART Board can increase attention and learning:

  • "it's more fun"
  • "it's more fun to watch"
  • "a lot more people pay attention because it is more interesting"
  • "people will pay more attention because you can touch the board"
  • "because kids really like it"
  • "because you can save your work and review it"
  • "a SMART Board can make learning fun if students participate with using it"
  • "because it is interactive"
  • "because everyone likes the SMART Board better than a white board. It is easy to use"

Most students surveyed had been in a classroom where a SMART Board had been used and would really enjoy using the SMART Board more. They also felt like SMART Boards can be used for all subjects and wrote that they felt good and excited about using the board.
